CCD

Classes for children in grades 1-8 begin Sunday October 4th after 9:30a.m. Mass.  

Children in the 2nd grade are prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
First Holy Communion will be held on May 2nd, 2010 at 9:30a.m. Mass.

Confirmation classes will begin October 4th from 5:00-7:00pm. This is a two year program beginning in 8th grade. Students in 9th grade will be confirmed by Bishop Gerald Barbarito on March 14th, 2010 at 9:00a.m. Mass.

Please come to the parish office Monday through Friday 9:00am-4:00pm to register. A baptismal certificate is required at the time of registration. For more information please contact the parish office.

Bereaved Support Group

This is a spiritual support group directed by Sister Elizabeth Ann McCormick on an as needed basis for those who have lost a loved. Please contact the parish office.

Alcoholics Anonymous

AA meets every Friday at 6:00p.m. in the Parish Center. For more information please contact the parish office.

Counseling

Catholic Charities offers counseling services for adults, teens, children, families, marriage/ couples at St. Edward Church. Please contact Molly Mcguire LCSW for more information. (561) 891-0379

Arts and Crafts

Monday mornings after 8:30 Mass please drop in and help us make decorative items for the homebound as well as Holiday table décor for parish functions. All are welcome!

Eucharistic Ministers

Lay Ministers of the Eucharist are given preparation to assist at Mass and to bring Communion to the home bound. If you would like to be considered for this ministry please call the office.

Sacraments

Marriage

Registered members of the parish must make an appointment with a priest of the parish at least twelve (12) months before the marriage.

Normal marriage times are on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 2:30 p.m.

Baptism

First Communion
Candidates for this Sacrament must be enrolled in a two year program. Classes are held on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.

Confirmation
Candidates for this Sacrament are those who have been baptized, have been properly instructed in our Religious Education Program and are capable of renewing their baptismal promises. A student candidate must be in at least  the 9th grade.

Food Pantry Ministry

St. Edward parish is deeply committed to serving the needy through local food pantry outreach services including St. Ann’s Place, The Caring Kitchen and the Westgate Tabernacle. Each week we prepare and serve around 750 meals. Please contact the parish office to find out how you can become involved in this mission.

Music Ministry

“What do you want of me Lord? Where do you want me to serve you? Where can I sing your praises? I am your song.”

Adult Choir
Led by Mrs. Maralyn Coscia, Director of Music Ministry, our Choir enhances our liturgical celebrations. Our dedicated and hard-working volunteers meet for rehearsal every Wednesday evening at 7:00p.m. in the Parish Center. We sing every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Mass. We also prepare music for all the special liturgies of the parish.

Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir prepares music for the children’s liturgies each month starting in September. We invite children of the parish ages 5-13 to join us every Tuesday from 3:30p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for choir practice where they will learn to sing beautifully and praise God with a fun and exciting spirit.

The parish offers weekly Bible study as well as the RCIA program.

R.C.I.A. (The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

The inquiry sessions are for anyone wishing to learn more about the Catholic faith

  1. Adults interested in joining the Catholic Church.
  2. Baptized Catholics desiring to complete the Sacrament of Initiation by receiving Eucharist and Confirmation.
  3. Any person wishing to discover the richness of the Catholic faith.
